AREAS OF FOCUS & EXPERTISE

SPORTS PERFORMANCE

The reason why it’s so hard to stay focused in the present moment often has to do “chatter” becoming louder when the stakes are high. A young athlete’s inner voice tends to ramp up its intensity when faced with a big game or an important showcase on the line, or any situation where you fears something could go wrong. We will work to develop strategies to redirect the focus back to the present.  What can you control?  What you cannot? As well as techniques like mindfulness, grounding exercises, and focusing on the process rather than the outcome can help minimize the power of mind chatter.

THE CASE FOR MENTAL HEALTH IN YOUTH SPORTS

In today’s ultra competitive world, prioritizing mental health is essential for our children’s success. Coaches and teams that support their athletes’ well-being see increased performance, dedication and most importantly happiness. Conversely, neglecting mental health leads to burnout, poor self-esteem and lack of commitment, impacting overall performance.
